Early Packet Pick-up Tonight at St. Francis

Those who have pre-registered can pick up their t-shirt, bib number, and D-tag timing chip tonight at the Hutzell Athletic Center on the University of St. Francis campus.

Early packet pick-up will run from 6 PM to 8 PM.

The Hutzell Center is the site of tomorrow's race. It is located on Leesburg Road on the east side of campus.

The use of the D-tag disposabe timing device should help with packet pick-up both tonight and tomorrow morning. The D-tag will be attached to your bib number. So, once you receive your bib number you will not have to go to a separate table to pick up your tag.

Your packet should be picked up by Bib Number. There will be a list of bib numbers and names posted at the center. Either check the list when you arrive to confirm your bib number or go to the Online Registration URL and click "Entry Confirmation" to see you bib number. We aim to shorten the lines ... and times on race morning.

Other news: There will be a live turkey present at tomorrow's race in addition to the costumed turkey mascot.

Turkeys - live and costumed; music; and another special visual at the finish will enliven your family's new Thanksgiving tradition.

We also listened to runners who wanted to get on to Thanksgiving Dinner without waiting for awards. So, as runners finish tomorrow, the first finishers will receive pumpkin bread in order of finish. Age group winners will have personalized full-color certificates mailed. As always, showers at the Hutzell Center will be available for runners after the race.

Gobbler Training on the Road Near St. Francis

Last week, we were gratified to see a Fort Wayne Gobbler putting in some serious road training on Hillegas Road just west of the University of St. Francis campus. He was photographed on the west side road shoulder running against traffic.

We learned from WPTA reporter Brian McElhatten last evening that he had spotted the athletic turkey yesterday on Hillegas Road.

Galloping Gobbler Helps St. Francis Host the Mid-Central Championship

Yesterday, the University of St. Francis hosted the Mid-Central Conference cross-country championship of the NAIA.

Part of the proceeds from the Galloping Gobbler are going toward assisting St Francis with the expenses for the championship.

This is the first time that the University of St. Francis has hosted the event and we are proud the Galloping Gobbler 4 Miler was able to help.

You can register online here.
